In August, I went to Woodstock and practiced yoga with David Life and Sharon Gannon at thier home for their Wild Woodstock Jivamukti Yoga program. They teach 3 hours a day for the month of August in the studio attached to their home. It was a beautiful experience. Sri Shannon had just written a book, Yoga and Vegetarianism, and was doing a book signing in town. I was affected hearing her speak about the way animals are treated and how it is a conflict for someone on a spiritual path to engage in the support of these atrocities. I had been eating a fairly vegetarian/vegan diet while practicing at Woodstock, and decided that this was a life change that I needed to make. Since that time, I chose to be vegan.
I intend on using this space to talk about my own personal progression as a vegan and a yoga practitioner. I also hope to include my favorite vegan foods/recipes. Hopefully it will help me organize my thoughts and sort out problems in addition to being interesting for others to read...
